Alex and David Kogan
Bios
Alex Kogan - Multimedia Director
Alex has a long and varied resume in the digital entertainment world. He worked in Hollywood for five years on television shows such as "Living Single" and "You Don't Know Jack." He then spent two years as a caption and subtitle editor. When he moved back to Chicago in 2004, he began developing DVD, editing, and other motion graphics services for DKP. Alex is the main designer and programmer on all authoring projects.
Although he can't break 100, Alex loves golf and hiking.
David Kogan
David started DKP when film was still in vogue and there was no such thing as a cell phone. DKP stands for the original name: David Kogan Photography.
In 1984 a client asked us if we could get some typesetting done for a price book of their product line. As we had been playing around with personal computers for sometime and currently owned an Apple III (one of Apple's true failures) we said, "Sure", thinking we could do it ourselves. The next day we bought an Apple MacIntosh, one of those little things with the beautiful 9" black and white screen and a copy of Aldus Pagemaker, serial number 004.
We haven't looked back since. We still use Macs and yes, PCs also. Film, what's that? DKP has evolved into a full service digital facility. What remains from the beginning though is the pursuit of excellence and craftsmanship. Oh, by the way, the price book turned out great.
